Ms Shepherd is designing a 3-year book-arts curriculum for Boston Arts Academy, the new public high school for the arts, where she taught Gothic Calligraphy in 2001. She gave an extended calligraphy workshop at Boston University School for the Arts in 1998. She has taught calligraphy in two summer sessions at Rhode Island School of Design, taught upper-school art teachers in the Framingham school system, and given lectures, workshops, and artist-in-residence programs at the BU Art Gallery, Harvard Librarians' Association, Mankato State College, Stanford University, and many other venues.
Ms Shepherd's "Boston Calligraphy Trail," introduced in February 2001, is already a popular tour with calligraphers, type designers, and all kinds of visitors to Boston. Ms Shepherd is available to speak about calligraphy and handwritten notes.
