Margaret Shepherd was born in Ames, Iowa, taught high school in pre-war Saigon, graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, and lives in Boston. (Her calligraphy can be seen locally in her Back Bay neighborhood in 60 major memorials and 400 historical names at the 1st and 2nd Church, in a commemorative piece about music at the Uchida Building at Berklee College, in the logo of the Advent School, and in outdoor plaques at Hale House and Clarendon St Playground.) Recent research trips have taken her to Cyprus, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. She is a member of the St Botolph Club, the Society of Printers, the Saturday Morning Club, The Ticknor Society, and the Historic Bostons' Partnership. |
